Over the past six months, Wellgen Medical has had the privilege of receiving strong support and guidance from Qualcomm's QITC program, which has significantly accelerated the company's capabilities in AI and hardware optimization.
The Breakthrough — Unlocking the Power of the NPU
The biggest discovery for Wellgen Medical was witnessing the power of the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). By adapting the Qualcomm Snapdragon X CPU and NPU, Wellgen reduced AI inference time per image from 92.1 milliseconds (ms) to 18.3ms—an 80%+ speed boost, marking a major leap forward in on-device AI performance.

Though Wellgen did not win the cash prizes, the experience gained through QITC is priceless.
